We are pleased to announce that on 18th June 2008 we put live our 5,000th server, less than a year after we crossed the 3,000 server milestone in October 2007. We would like to thank all of our clients, both existing and new, for their vote of confidence in our services. Everyone at RapidSwitch has been working hard to make sure we deliver the best dedicated hosting experience in the UK, and it's extremely satisfying for us to see this hard work being welcomed by our clients. Our next target is the 10,000th server, which we aim to achieve by the end of 2009.

From 22nd April 2008, RapidSwitch now offers a new range of Dedicated Servers to respond to the demand of virtualisation services and processor-intensive applications. These new servers utilise the Intel Xeon X3353 and the Intel Xeon E5420, and are available with 16GB of RAM. You can order these servers on our website now!
As we reported in November 2007, our clients enjoy the UK's fastest network. Our policy of continual improvement has brought our total connectivity to over 90 gigabits per second, and we're delighted to say that we have recently added a 10 gigabit connection to the transit provider Interoute, that has an extensive European network. We will continue to add to our connectivity and improve our network, setting the standard for the market to follow.
We are pleased to announce the availability of a new service for all of our clients. This recovery and reinstall service enables advanced console-level access to your server, for the purpose of fixing critical faults or reinstalling the operating system. The recovery service boots your server up into a Knoppix Linux distribution over the network, which gives you a host of tools to enable you to recover a failed server. This allows you to access the file system, even if it is a Windows Server 2003/2008 system, and to repair the operating system. Please note a good level of technical knowledge is required.
