New Recovery and Reinstall Service
We are pleased to announce the availability of a new service for all of our clients. This recovery and reinstall service enables advanced console-level access to your server, for the purpose of fixing critical faults or reinstalling the operating system.
The recovery service boots your server up into a Knoppix Linux distribution over the network, which gives you a host of tools to enable you to recover a failed server. This allows you to access the file system, even if it is a Windows Server 2003/2008 system, and to repair the operating system. Please note a good level of technical knowledge is required.
For reinstalls, the service has network bootable installers for the Debian, CentOS and Fedora Linux distributions. This self-service reinstall allows you to use the network bootable installers to reinstall your server. Due to licensing constraints we are unable to offer self-service reinstallation for Windows operating systems.
This Recovery and Reinstall service is free for all clients to use once per server per month. Additional sessions are available at £20+VAT, and extended sessions are also available at an extra cost.
